4th ANNUAL BUFFALO NIAGARA FILM FESTIVAL OPENING - April 16 - 25, 2010


           The 4th Annual BUFFALO NIAGARA FILM FESTIVAL (BNFF) spans ten days and presents a thoughtfully selected program of independent films at various landmark venues around Buffalo & Niagara Falls, New York, with its sparkling Niagara Falls situated right in its backyard. The BNFF has been built around the needs of filmmakers and aims to be an annual destination for film-lovers and industry to come together and celebrate a shared passion for film.

Past honorees and participants include Robert Redford; Richard Dreyfuss; Lou Ferrigno; Robert Culp; Tom Holland; Cindy Williams; and Louis Gossett, Jr. who declares that the BNFF's "selection of films was outstanding." Festival organizers have had great success in pushing filmmakers to the next level of their careers. Many films have had their start at the BNFF and later went on to win awards and ink distribution deals, including SCALING UP, SINNER, FATHER G AND THE HOMEBOYS, THE STILL LIFE, HENRY MAY LONG, VARTAN LLP, THE CAKE EATERS, WHAT GOES UP and more...

The BNFF 2010 introduces a FESTIVAL FILM MARKET & EXPO, TOURISM & SCOUTING PACKAGES, Dov S Simens 2-DAY FILM SCHOOL (April 24th and 25th, 2010), as well as MAJOR MARKETING & DISTRIBUTION PLANS for selected filmmakers.

Opening and Closing Night Galas, filmmaker receptions, and panels and seminars will also be held during the Festival. Select filmmakers may receive transportation and accommodations to attend the Festival and to present their film in person. BNFF presents beautiful crystal awards, as well as thousands of dollars in cash and prizes for winning filmmakers and writers in various categories.

IN PREPARATION…The Magic Shoe.


This magical, coming-of-age drama tells the story of a group of youngsters whose world is shattered when one of them is taken away following the death of her grandfather (James Garner) and mother. Twenty years later, as adults without a center, they join forces to find that missing member, reunite the group, and bring the magic back into their lives. Casting calls and pre-production planning is currently underway.

CAPTURES ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCTION FACILITY SITE PLAN FINALIZED…

Captures is developing a 14-acre production facility that includes five soundstages, ranging in size from 7,000 sq. ft. to 20,000 sq. ft., as well as a large, user-configurable cityscape backdrop, animation lab, special effects lab, editing, office, storage, wardrobe and commissary & lodging facilities. This facility will be used for Captures’ productions, as well as leased out for usage by other production companies, providing a self-sustaining source of income. The land is currently being developed by Captures’ President. This facility will permit year-round shooting and production activities – a benefit that many other East Coast and Mid-West production companies do not have the luxury of due to weather.
